Fernando's First Snow, 4 minutes, Narrative

Your typical Boston street turns into a poignant junction of cultures and ages. Watching this touching, very simple, and short tale gives one the sense of experiencing a strong memory in the making.

Pilgrims_Progress, 3 Min 45 Seconds, Animation

Dir: James Dingle, Dorchester, MA

Though classified as an Animation piece, it can also be described as a historical fiction and archive of video game style. This brief history of America that shows many possible avenues not taken by founding fathers, and increases to a frenetic pace as key decisions get made that brought us where we are as a country today.

El Bolero, 13 Minutes, Narrative

Amid the bustle of Mexico City, a lonely widower encounters a kind Bolero (shoe-shiner) whose unique powers are able to restore more than worn leather. El Bolero is a short, romantic film with a universal theme that reminds us of how the power of true love is much stronger than reality.

Lemming Drop, 19 Minutes, Documentary

The lemming, a harmless artic rodent that fits into the palm of your hand, was elevated to notoriety by Disney's nature documentary White Wilderness. Should we trust Disney's profile of the lemming? Do they really commit suicide? Why do we so easily believe what we see on TV? Hear from the experts: animal behaviorists, media scholars, and you.

Obsessive Love, 2 Min 30 Seconds, Experimental Narrative

Poor Lola. Poor Leonardo. Lola is madly in love with her parakeet Leonardo. This caged bird cannot escape her obsessive love.

In the Tradition of My Family, 14 Minutes, Narrative

Billy wants a better scar than the one his father gave him, pushing a tradition of violence that goes back generations. This tradition is threatened when one father hesitates to indoctrinate his son into the collective insanity.

Demolition Derby, 5 Minutes, Experimental Documentary

Dir: Kevin McCarthy, Allston, MA

Shot at the Marshfield Fair in the summer of 2003, Demolition Derby focuses on the rich melange of sounds and visuals of the demolition derby, carnival ride midway, huckster games, and berating dunk tank clowns. Tying together Super-8 footage and a separate sound recording, real time and space dissolve into super-tactile sounds and surfaces to create a rough-edged symphony.

Leftovers, 3 Min 45 Seconds, Animation

A lonely old man sits down for a quiet lunch, but soon a hungry squirrel disturbs him. Constantly sliding between funny, sad, and charming, this clash of personalities showcases lively character animation at its best.
